Rate Limits per Endpoint and Rate-Limit Headers
Rate limits apply per API key and per endpoint, default to 1 request per second, and responses report them in ratelimit headers.
Rate limits depend on your plan and apply per API key and per endpoint. Unless your plan says otherwise, the default is 1 request per second.
Responses tell you where you stand. For the current window:
ratelimit-limitratelimit-remainingratelimit-reset
For each window configured on your plan:
x-ratelimit-limit-secondx-ratelimit-limit-minutex-ratelimit-limit-hourx-ratelimit-remaining-secondx-ratelimit-remaining-minutex-ratelimit-remaining-hour
Over the limit, the API returns 429 Too Many Requests. Wait ratelimit-reset seconds before you
retry. Some endpoints, such as lookups, also count against a quota on your plan: one unit per request.
See Rate limits and the 429 example.
